Return Of The Jaws Ride?

Could the Jaws ride be coming back to Universal in Florida?

There’s a new Universal Studios theme park - Universal’s Epic Universe - coming to Florida, so of course the first question is, will it include a new version of the Jaws ride?

Wouldn’t that be perfect timing though, a new Jaws ride in time for its 50th anniversary in 2025. We know the demand is there, they must know the demand is there, and we think it is high time that Jaws got the love and respect that it deserves from Universal.

The message is loud and clear, bring back the Jaws ride. They’ve just revamped the Jurassic Park ride as the Jurassic World one, that original film is arguably the spiritual child of Jaws, so why not revamp and resurrect Jaws?

So, what do we know? In truth, not a lot. All we know is a name and a park map with no names of what attractions will feature...but there are huge swathes of water. Perfect for a carcharodon carcharias, wouldn’t you say?

Here is pretty much everything that has been released by Universal about Universal’s Epic Universe. The following has been taken direct from their website:

The Most Immersive and Innovative Park We've Ever Created
Universal's Epic Universe will offer an entirely new level of experience that will forever change theme park entertainment. Guests will venture beyond their wildest imagination, traveling into beloved stories and through vibrant lands on adventures where the journey is as astounding as the ultimate destination.

The new location will feature a theme park, an entertainment center, hotels, shops, restaurants and more. Ultimately, this expansion will create more space and freedom to let loose and create lasting memories with the people you love.

Beloved stories they say, well we know from the followship of The Daily Jaws that the Steven Spielberg classic is certainly beloved, and seems to become more beloved with each passing year.

So, what happened to the original Jaws ride in Orlando? That opened in 1990 and made people question the safety of going into the water until 2012 when it’s jaws snapped shut for the final time to be replaced by Harry Potter’s wizard of world. Diagon Alley now replacing the site of the shark.

We have approached Universal Studios for comment, so watch this space. The return of the Jaws ride in the US, now that really would be epic.
