Our Mission

To celebrate the phenomenon, history, legacy and craft of Jaws and shark cinema, by keeping fans updated with the latest news, reviews and events.

By working closely with leading experts and building on the conservation work of the likes of Jaws author, Peter Benchley, we educate people about sharks and the threats facing them.

That's the true legacy of Jaws, and the people it continues to inspire in the ocean, and behind the camera.

Ross Williams (Director and Founder)

“Jaws has always been my favourite film. I first saw it when I was 5 and have watched it at least 500 times. In the run up to the 40th anniversary in 2015, I began to look for something to follow that celebrated the movie, talked about sharks and kept me up to date on the latest news, products and events. When I couldn’t find anything like this, I thought why not start something myself? 6 years and 100k followers later, The Daily Jaws continues to go from strength to strength and allows me to live the dream by playing an active role in keeping this incredible film alive in new and interesting ways while also helping change people’s perceptions of sharks.” - Ross

Dean Newman (Writer)

Jaws has always been part of Dean's DNA, since his mum was reading it when she was pregnant with him ahead of its (and his) release in 1975.

He first saw the film when it had its UK TV premiere, quickly vowing never to have a bath again, but fell in love with Jaws, sharks, film and all things Steven Spielberg.

He's penned over 400 Jaws and shark-related articles, interviews and reviews and is a huge fan of all four Jaws films. He's also edited several videos, including the Jaws WeMake, and has also featured on Shark Week and in The Guardian about the subject.

Dean has over 20 years PR experience and his writing has also been featured in Level 4 magazine, Syfy.co.uk, The Bearded Trio, Horrified magazine, and he can be heard on Betamax Video Pod.

He has a dog named Brody, and lives in Essex in the UK, not too fah from the sea.

Kristian Parton (Shark Scientist)

“My love for sharks started at an early age, like many other young kids I was fascinated with a “stereotypical” dangerous animal. As I grew, that fascination turned to passion, and with it came a desire to learn anything and everything about them. This eventually culminated in my decision to choose a career in marine biology and shark science. I have dedicated the last 5 years to the study and research of these highly misunderstood animals, with my research primarily revolving around their susceptibility to plastic pollution. As an early career shark scientist, there is always something new and exciting to learn about sharks and my responsibilities lie in educating and raising awareness of their plight in the oceans around the world.” - Kristian

Dr. Brianna Le Busque, PhD (Psychology), BPsych(Hons)

“I have always loved the ocean, and from an early age I became fascinated about how people were terrified of sharks, but not other statistically more dangerous things. I completed my PhD in psychology where I researched people’s fear of sharks, perception of risk, and the role the media has in this space. I am now a lecturer and researcher in psychology and dedicate much of my research to understanding fear and the media, particularly regarding sharks. The media is such a powerful tool, and I am interested in how it can be used to promote shark conservation. I love my job, as I can genuinely say that I get to learn about something I am passionate about everyday!” - Brianna
