Jaws 4K This Time It’s Ultra HD

If the rumour mill is true, then in 2020 you may well need a bigger shelf...and TV...and deeper pockets...for the release of Jaws in 4K. The perfect way to celebrate its 45 anniversary.

That's four times as many pixels than in a full HD TV, a total of about 8.3 million pixels. So, if you went from a 50 inch HD TV to a 50 inch 4K TV, you are cramming four times as many pixels into the same space, all of which means a hugely enhanced picture.

In short, Jaws like you have never seen it before. We know Jaws was spr-Bruce-d up for its Bluray release and cleaned frame by frame as part of Universal’s 100th anniversary, all in accordance with Spielberg himself. But this should make it seem like we are practically on the Orca, looking out of one of its windows.

Dreyfuss couldn’t believe how much 4K put him in the action

8K televisions are swimming just below the surface though, so who knows where that will take - or indeed when and at what price. Of course, Quint will be waiting for a 10K release, for him, by himself.

Picture quality is one thing, but what we really want is a Steven Spielberg commentary. He hasn’t done one yet...if he doesn’t The Daily Jaws team are always available.

If it’s released will you by buying Jaws in 4K? Do you have 4K equipment already or would you upgrade especially for Jaws? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
