Bruce The Jaws Statue Is AWOL From Universal

The Jaws Ride at Universal Studios in Florida may be long gone (those words are still difficult to type), replaced by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

But at least visitors could still pay their respects as a Jaws fan with pilgrimage to the hanging great white shark and grab a picture, right? Wrong.

Bruce is gone! His hook is empty, but fear not he will return. It turns out Bruce is getting a bit of a spruce up.

We are pleased and happy to the repeat the news that, according to the Orlando Sentinel, the iconic Jaws statue is “backstage undergoing maintenance and will be returning.”

Perhaps he's having a bit of a makeover ahead of the unveiling of the 25 foot fibreglass model of Bruce at The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures: https://thedailyjaws.com/news/2020/12/20/academy-museum-with-jaws-model-has-opening-pushed-back

Have you had your picture taken with Bruce? We'd love to see your Jaws-ome pictures with the famous fish.

Not that this is the first time that items relating to the Steven Spielberg film have gone missing. The original Orca prop at Universal Studios Hollywood was on the backlot one day and was destroyed: DEATH OF THE ORCA

The original art work for the iconic Jaws poster, by Roger Kastel, also vanished and has never seen again: THE JAWS POSTER IS MISSING

And don't even get us started on poor Pipit!
