Comedian Tim Vine Releases Jaws WeMake Compilation

2020 wasn’t all bad. JAWS celebrated its 45th birthday and with it came loads of screenings, new merch and cool events.

But it was a fan made recreation of JAWS that really captured the hearts and imaginations of finatics around the world. Dubbed the ‘Jaws WeMake’, over 100 Jaws lovers from the UK, US, Spain and India among others acted, animated and stop-motioned every scene from Jaws. The completed 85 minute tribute premiered on YouTube on June 20th 2020, 45 years to the day since JAWS was released in cinemas. It even had a special introduction from actor Ian Shaw (son of Jaws star Robert Shaw).

One fan took to the WeMake lockdown challenge like a shark to water and singlehandedly recreated some of the film’s key scenes. That fan was one other than British Comedian Tim Vine. A lifelong Jaws fan, Tim even chose Jaws as his specialist chosen subject on BBC One's Celebrity Mastermind last year. He features across clips as five different characters from the film, Chief Brody, Mayor Vaughn, Ellen Brody, Harry Meadows and the Coroner. Some even featuring in the same scene!

You’re gonna need a bigger mouth…

JAWS is my favourite film so having a reason to remake bits of it has been the perfect way to fill my lockdown afternoons. I’m pretty sure Murray Hamilton never stuck his lines to a garden fence.
— Tim Vine, Comedian

Tim has uploaded his Jaws WeMake contributions into a compilation (see video below). A naturally comedic performer with epic attention to detail, his recreations is genuinely awe inspiring. When you watch Tim’s scenes take a look at the sets, props and costumes. As well as an accomplished comedian, Tim truly is a dedicated Jaws fan.
