Wife of Jaws Author Joins Beneath The Waves Board

Wendy: “I’m excited to join Dr. Austin Gallagher and the team at Beneath The Waves as a new Board Member. Austin and his team of advisors and research associates have built a first- class shark and marine research organization that is at the intersection of shark conservation and marine protected areas — a bullseye for the ocean work I am passionate about. Although BTW is small, it is agile, deftly strategic and produces big and powerful results.

They not only do the cutting-edge science, but it is directed to have impact immediately. Their work in the Bahamas so impressed the Turks and Caicos government that Beneath The Waves has been asked to help them assist with creating a large MPA to preserve their vulnerable marine environment.

I hope to join them on some of their upcoming research expeditions in the Northeast Atlantic and the Caribbean — with Covid standards in place, of course!”
