JAWS ACTOR MOVIE GETS NOD IN JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION TEASER
In amongst the dino action in the sneak peek at the opening of jurassic world dominion, the eagle-eyed may have spotted an early Richard Dreyfuss film, American Graffiti, which he made just two years before he played Matt Hooper in Jaws.
The 1973 film, which was set in 1960s America, was directed by none-other other than future Star Wars director George Lucas and also starred Ron Howard, Charles Martin Smith, and also saw an early outing for Harrison Ford.
The name of the film is spotted advertised as playing on a double bill in a drive in cinema with Flash Gordon. That's a significant pairing as Lucas tried to get the rights to Flash Gordon before he travelled to a galaxy far, far away.
Graffiti was edited by Marcia Lucas and a certain Verna Fields, who would go on to win an Oscar for her editing on Jaws.
And we know that there is already a Jaws easter egg in the continuing dinosaur saga that is part of the Jurassic Park legacy.
In these images you can see Chris Pratt and director Colin Trevorrow talking on a boat, and it is revealed that the name of that boat is Fair Spanish Lady. A song, of course, sung by Quint, captain of the Orca in the 1975 Spielberg classic.
Both Jurassic Park and its 1997 follow up, Jurasic Park: The Lost World, were directed by Steven Spielberg.
For many, the dinosaur DNA blockbuster from 1993 is Steven Spielberg's closest film to Jaws in many ways, in sense of style and scares.
And, Jaws even has a cameo in Jurassic Park, on the computer screen of Nedry. He's a Jaws fan, see he can't be all bad!
We also get a great white shark cameo in Jurassic World as it is dangled as bait for a hungry, leaping Mosasaurus.
