THE SHARK IS BROKEN
Martha’s Vineyard, 1974: shooting on ‘Jaws’ has stalled. The film’s lead actors – Robert Shaw, Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss – are stuck on a boat, at the mercy of foul weather and a faulty mechanical co-star. Awash with alcohol and ambition, three hammered sharks start to bare their teeth…
Ian Shaw (War Horse and Common, National Theatre) stars as his father Robert Shaw. He is joined by Liam Murray Scott as Richard Dreyfuss (reprising the role he performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019), and Demetri Goritsas (ear for eye, Royal Court; Black Mirror, Netflix) as Roy Scheider.
Directed by Guy Masterson, THE SHARK IS BROKEN reveals the hilarious behind-the-scenes drama on one of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters.

GIANT FIN: THE TALE OF A SHARK WHO WANTED TO FIT IN
I was 6 when I came up with the title GIANT FIN. I watched Jaws for the first time on British TV. I started making my own cardboard sharks from used crisp boxes. I wanted to make my version of JAWS. And yes, I called my version 6-year-old version; GIANT FIN. I got my brother to act in a play at home. We performed in front of relatives, him and me and some cardboard sharks... apparently, or so my parents recollect, it was very silent and went on for some time. It was a few decades before GIANT FIN became the character for this book. A few decades later, after my Wife's Mum said I should make my ideas into children's books, I decided to do it. The story needed to be relatable to every child. As a parent to an ASD and ADHD child, I was moved when he would say, 'I want to be normal. I don't want to be different.' I would tell him, being different makes us unique. The world needs different. So Giant Fin was born, the tale of a shark who thought he was different and wanted to fit in. - Author Phil Claydon

The score was reissued again in 2015 through Intrada Records containing the full film score along with alternates, source music and a remaster of the 1975 album. Williams described the theme as "grinding away at you, just as a shark would do, instinctual, relentless, unstoppable.
