Jaws show, The Shark Is Broken, is headed to London
Quint, Chief Brody and Matt Hooper, the crew of the Orca, are set to be headed up the Thames as they anchor in London for almost two months to bring the breakout hit from last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival; The Shark Is Broken.
The show, set to run from 11 May – 18 July at The Ambassadors Theatre, was co-written by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon. Ian, who is the son of Quint actor Robert Shaw, also plays his dad in the play.
He is an uncanny spit of his dad playing the grizzled shark hunter, but then both the stage versions of Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider, played by Liam Murray Scott and Duncan Henderson, respectively.
At the time of us seeing it in Brighton we said that it was a Jaws de force, intimate yet epic in scope at the same time. It also demands to be seen by a much wider audience. And thankfully, in the 45th year of the release of Jaws, now it is.
We hope to bring you more about the London version of The Shark Is Broken, perhaps even now with additional scenes as was mooted when we met up with Ian Shaw. Here’s our original review of that final preview show in Brighton: The Shark Is Broken Review
We always knew they were gonna need a bigger venue, and to the delight of Jaws fans, they have. Are you excited about The Shark Is Broken coming to London?

Robert Shaw is most celebrated today as the Oscar-nominated star in movies like From Russia with Love, A Man For All Seasons, The Sting and – most memorably of all – as Quint in the record-breaking Jaws.
