Steven Spielberg’s daughter follows in her dad’s footsteps to Cannes

It’s a case of like father, like daughter as Destry Allyn Spielberg –the daughter of the Oscar-winning director – has brought her vey first feature film to the Cannes Film Market this month.

Altitude, the company behind it have been floating the film of the daughter of the director of JAWS ahead of filming starting at the end of this month in New Mexico.

Please Don’t Feed the Children is a horror thriller that is described by the young director as “so much more than just a horror movie” and sees a group of orphans survive a viral outbreak that targets adults, with the kids coming up against a deranged woman.

If she has half as much talent as her old man then we’ll be in for a great film and with Steven Spielberg’s early work including everything from Duel, Something Evil and JAWS hopes are bound to be high for another young Spielberg to thrill us and make us jump all over again.

Who knows, perhaps Destry may fancy a trip to Amity Island and give us Please Don’t Feed the Children to the Great White Shark, in the way of a new JAWS film?

Of course, Destry isn’t the only Spielberg child to try their hand at directing, with Max Spielberg famously ‘directing’ JAWS 19 back in 2015 - well according to Back To The Future Part 2 (1989).
