Shocking Images Of Rope Round Neck Of Tiger Shark

A photo of a tiger shark with a rope caught round its neck, with no means of getting it off, as it swam off the waters of Hawaii has surfaced.

It's a horribly sad image of the man-made pollution problem and littering of our oceans at work. It's also the plight of sharks and other sea creatures distilled in a single image, we are quite literally tightening a noose around the neck of sharks and others that call the sea their home.

The rope cutting deeper and deeper into the shark as it swims, each movement bringing it closer to eventual oblivion. Disturbingly, it even looking as if the rope is even about to de-place one of its fins.

The horrible image was captured by underwater photographer Jason Lafferty, 36, whilst diving in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. He tried to help the struggling fish, but to no avail.

Lafferty even returned the following day, but the struggling shark was no where to be seen.
