Jaws WeMake to Unite Jaws Fans Worldwide During Covid-19 Lockdown
A WeMake you say? Of Jaws?
A whaaat?
It's sort of like a remake, but just one we make as Jaws fans, a WeMake. So that could be recreating a scene as a photo, an animation, a piece of art, filming something in your back yahd, not too fah from the cah. Anything goes, almost.
It all forms part of our #ShowMeTheWayToStayHome campaign to help keep you entertained as those who aren't key workers stay home and save lives.
Ross and Dean, the creative force behind The Daily Jaws, the world's number one Jaws fan site, said: "Jaws turns 45 this year, so it is a huge milestone. We know there are lots Jaws fans out there and we thought that being part of a global WeMake in the safety of their own homes during a global pandemic would help unite us all with our common love of all things Jaws. It's a universal situation and Jaws is a Universal film. Literally.“
"We all know that a Jaws remake is a terrible idea, but we felt a WeMake would help engage us all and bring Jaws fans, young and old, together across the globe via this ultimate Jaws homage for everyone to be a part of. We've over 74,000 dedicated fans so know it could be something that is great fun and help keep everyone sane in this insane time. "
So how will it work?
Take a scene or moment from Jaws and recreate it in the safety of your home in any medium or way you see fit. So that means no sneaking off to film any scenes at a local beach or involving anyone other than who is in your household. Keep it safe.
The more creative and inventive the better, but that doesn't mean you have to have a video camera and be the next Steven Spielberg. You could recreate something as a photo or even a drawing or animation. Or it could be you dressed up as a Jaws character delivering a line of dialogue or scene.
The Daily Jaws will then take all the different elements from around the world and put them together as a thread in a blog post with this retelling of Jaws the film by Jaws fans for Jaws fans.
Any scenes or moments missing, they'll fill that void with a paragraph describing the action.
You can submit your Jaws WeMake moment by emailing mail@thedailyjaws.com. Any videos will need sending by we transfer. Please include your name and where you are from.
And when are The Daily Jaws hoping to launch the Jaws WeMake post? On June 20th, which any Jaws fan will know is the date that the film originally opened across the US.
With that date in mind, the deadline for any submissions is May 19th.
