JAWS super cut of shark classic and sequels on the way
A JAWS super cut is making waves at it stitches together all four films in the franchise into one continuous cinematic experience.
A whaaaat?
Those proportions are correct, with it running at just under seven hours, the edit blends JAWS, JAWS 2 , JAWS 3D and JAWS the Revenge into a single, sprawling narrative of man...well Brody family versus shark.
And what a cast, Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary, Dennis Quaid, Michael Caine, Lance Guest and Mario Van Peebles all in one massive Jaws film!
The fan-made project, which has been quietly circulating online, aims to smooth over the tonal and narrative inconsistencies between the films.
Through careful editing, the creator reorders scenes, trims redundant moments and adds in deleted scenes that take us from Amity Island to SeaWorld, back to Amity and then to the Bahamas.
The result is a surprisingly cohesive saga that follows the Brody family’s ongoing battle with great white sharks across 12 years of films.
One of the most notable achievements is how the super cut reframes the later, often criticised sequels.
By integrating them into a larger narrative, their more outlandish elements feel less jarring and more like escalating chapters in a long-running saga. Even the much-maligned JAWS the Revenge gains new context, appearing as a dramatic culmination rather than a disconnected finale.
The nearly seven-hour runtime may seem daunting, but early viewers report that the pacing remains engaging throughout. I
Its editor has trimmed slower scenes while preserving the suspense and iconic moments that made the original film a classic. The result is a marathon viewing experience that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new.
While the super cut is unofficial and unlikely to receive any formal release, it highlights the enduring cultural impact of the franchise.
Fans continue to revisit and reinterpret the films decades after the original terrified audiences and changed summer blockbusters forever.
One of the most famous lines in cinematic history is "You're gonna need a bigger boat", JAWS fans are never going to need a bigger cut of this fin-tastic shark franchise.
For devoted viewers, the super cut offers a unique way to experience the entire saga in one sitting, but what do you think? Jaws-some or should it be sent to the bottom of the ocean with the Orca?
