Could new Jaws Ride surface in the UK?

As Universal Studios gears up to establish its first-ever theme park in the United Kingdom, could that ride offering include the iconic Jaws Ride?

The original Jaws Ride, launched in 1990 at Universal Studios Florida, took visitors on a riveting boat tour that turned into a heart-pounding encounter with the infamous great white shark. Despite its closure in 2012 to make way for newer attractions, the ride remains a cherished memory for many.

Dean Newman, Head of Content for The Daily Jaws, the world's number one JAWS fab site, said: "Bringing the Jaws Ride to the UK would be a testament to Universal's commitment to creating immersive and unforgettable experiences. Its unique blend of storytelling, suspense, and thrill would undoubtedly captivate audiences and become a cornerstone of the new park, for film and theme park enthusiasts alike."

Universal Studios has already bought a huge area of land near Bedford, which is just 45 minutes from London. If completed, it would join other Universal theme parks in the US, China, Singapore and Japan - with the latter the only place to currently have a JAWS ride.

Whilst it is yet to decide on the films which could inspire rides at its proposed UK site, it is hard to not get excited at the prospect of JAWS as being one of the chosen attractions.

A Universal Destinations and Experiences spokesperson said: "We recently acquired land in Bedford and are at the early stages of exploring its feasibility for a potential park and resort at this site.

The site around Kempston Hardwick, highlighted in yellow, is about 5 miles from the M1 and lies between two train lines.

"It will be many months before we are ready to make a decision to proceed and we look forward to engaging with all relevant stakeholders and the local community."

Universal, as you know, means friendship. Okay, so they didn't say that last bit.

Speculations about the JAWS ride's return have ignited discussions across social media platforms, but we'll just have to see what surfaces as the project progresses.
