END OF THE ROAD FOR EL DORADO SHARK FIN HAUL
Thousands of shark fins have been intercepted at El Dorado Airport that were headed en route to Hong Kong.
The barbaric discovery included 3,493 shark fins and 117 kilograms of fish swim bladders.

Sadly, many of these sharks would have simply had their fins torn from their backs and thrown into the water, still alive. Added to the pain and shock, they'd drown since sharks need to swim to breath.

The shark fins may have been headed to China, but it is likely that the sharks were finned in South America, to feed this illegal trade for shark fin soup.
It is estimated that some 76 million shark die in this horrific way each and every year.
