Movie Fan Restores Classic Jaws Photos Using Free App
With Jaws expected to be released on 4K (hard copy) later this year to celebrate the movies 45th anniversary, fans across the world are creating all types of amazing art work, movies and other tributes. And super fan Wilkes Jordan is no exception.
Like most fin-atics, Wilkes loves the vast and unique photographic archive of Jaws. Whether it’s a promo shot lifted directly from a scene in the movie or a candid behind the scenes photo, so much can be enjoyed and learned. But unsurprisingly, some images (being taken over 40 years ago) aren’t as clear as we’d like and cannot be totally appreciated. This when Wilkes had the jawsome idea to try and update / restore some Jaws photos using today’s technology.
Wilkes spoke with The Daily Jaws and explained about her love for Jaws and how she went about updating some of the classic shots.
“As Jaws is my favorite summer movie, I've turned to it in an attempt to prepare for warmer weather; I live in upstate NY where it's been nothing but grey and cold as of late. I put a few production stills from the movie through the app for fun; I enjoyed the quality of the images enough that I'm probably going to blow it up for a framed poster.”
“The app is Remini, it's free on the app store, and it's pretty easy to use; it'll restore any old photograph you have, but I'll tell you it works best if the subject is facing the camera.”
Below are some of Wilkes’ updated / restored shots.
What do you think of the restored shots? Like the photos, should we be looking to release and updated version of the movie itself?
