Jilly The Jaws Fan

Jaws fans around the world are always amazing us with their novel ways to celebrate the movie - including costumes and Jill, 45 from Wakefield near Leeds is no exception.

Jill, who runs her own Pre school and is a nursery teacher who loves sharks alongside her family of four daughters - she’s even managed to get her grandson Elliot (dressed as Quint) totally hooked! The Daily Jaws caught up with Jilly to learn more.

Why did you choose to dress up as Jaws for World Book Day?

I do world book day with my grandson each year so as soon as he was big enough it was always gonna be jaws :) 

How did you make your costume? How long did it take?

We made the boat out of an old wardrobe box and painted it and then just got as close to the costumes as we could although he pulled one of his side burns off and his moustache haha

What reaction did your costume get?  

Awesome everyone loved it.

How long have you loved jaws? Well when I was little and watched it with my dad I peed my pants and for years used to think jaws would come up the sink and bite my backside but I’ve always always loved it.

Why do you love jaws?  

Just the music the story the shark honestly it’s awesome how it makes you feel how it makes you scared I love it all how it begins under the water with the sea weed haha! 

Who is your favourite character in Jaws?  

Bruce of course 

What is your favourite moment?

It’s really geeky but I love the start with the music under the sea, I love the part where Ben Gardner’s head pops out of the boat under the water and where quint claws the chalk board your like oh my days haha!

Would you like to a jaws reboot / remake?

Nope the original is just too good.

 If there was a reboot/rremake, who would you like to star and direct?

Imagine if they did though you could have Al Pacino as quint brad Pitt as Brody and Jack Black as Hooper 🤣🤣🤣 

What other films do you like apart from jaws?

So many I love shark films. Love scary movies like Wizard of Oz and Nightmare On Elm Street.

Any advice to people wanting to dress up as Jaws?

Do it any chance for a shark dress up I say I will send you the others we’ve done on Instagram they’ll make you chuckle.
