MANEATER BITES BACK WITH NEW DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT IN TRUTH QUEST
When Maneater was released across consoles in May 2020, it proved to be a hit, chomping the competition with over one million sales to become perhaps the best-selling shark video game of all time.
All of which left Maneater fans clamouring for more, and now the games' developers, Tripwire, are gonna give them a bigger game with new downloadable content (DLC) available from the end of August on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
One good bite deserves another then, and Maneater's is more of the same over the top action that delivers in buckets (of chum). So, what can we expect from this new DLC?
Maneater: Truth Quest DLC takes players to a brand-new island off the coast of Port Clovis – remember folks, it's only an island if you look at it from the water - and comes packed with new evolutions, challenges, wildlife, and more! Players will once again take control of the titular bullshark, that's delivers another round of Ecco the dolphin with teeth, and some serious attitude.
Also returning is Chris Parnell (from Saturday Night Live, Rick and Morty, Archer), reprising his role as investigative journalist/narrator Trip Westhaven, Maneater: Truth Quest will take players down the rabbit hole of dark secrets and conspiracies surrounding Port Clovis and the Naval Wildlife Organization (NWO).
The original stories of animals growing bone like armor, emitting flesh-eating toxins, or using electricity as a weapon were thought to be old fishermen's tales.
That is until conspiracy theorists everywhere pointed to the original Maneater as solid proof of a Government coverup.
Sounds like The X-Files meets Jaws, the truth is out there in the playing of the game, but either way it sounds awesome to return to this world and control the shark once again. One thing is for sure, this particular shark is still working.
We all love a follow up to a shark film, whether it is Jaws 2, 47 Metres Down: Uncaged, one of the many Sharknado films or the forthcoming The Reef 2, so why not an expansion of a video game?
Maneater: Truth Quest DLC requires the base-game, Maneater to play.
