Jaws Boat For Sale, One Careful Owner
Not THE Jaws boat, a Jaws boat. A four foot long radio controlled replica of the Orca to be precise.
The Daily Jaws were lucky enough to take this unique handmade homage to Jaws for a spin in a pond (yes, we know it's for the old ladies) last year. And now, it's up for sale. Great White Shark and anti-shark cage not included.
And Jaws fans around the world were suitably impressed with the mini-version of Quint's famous boat. Followers of The Daily Jaws on Twitter commented ‘best I’ve seen in this vicinity’ to ‘OMG this is absolutely fantastic’, whilst Meg author Steve Alten called it ‘amazing craftsmanship’.
It was built from scratch by Ron Hawes, from Southend-on-Sea in Essex in the UK, around nine years ago, but he's now looking at parting with it it as he is downsizing to move onto a boat. Insert your own you're gonna need a bigger boat comment here.
Ron said: "It's been an interesting project from the word go, building it was a challenge as there's no accurate plans available. But, guaranteed. every time I take it out, people always know straight away it's from Jaws, so it must be close to the original.
"It was great to be featured on the world's largest Jaws fan site, The Daily Jaws, there was huge positive feedback that made me feel like all my hard work had been worthwhile and that I'd built a very close replica.
"My radio controlled Orca has brought me a lot of joy as a Jaws fan, so I would like it to go to a Jaws fan if possible, so they can get the same pleasure out of it I have."
Not that we are talkin' about pleasure boatin' or day sailin', you understand. So if you are interested in making Ron an offer on his sharkin' boat you can email him at ronttuk@yahoo.co.uk.
You may well need a bigger postbox though, due to size and weight. Hopefully, we can help find it a new home, after all it deserves a better fate than the actual Orca, which was berthed at Universal Studios LA before being chopped up. Sacrilege.
