AMITY ISLAND NEWS: JAWS AS TOLD THROUGH NEWS CASTS

Besides the Amity Gazette, how did the residents of Amity Island get their news updates about the escalating shark problem?

What if news of the shark attacks on Amity Island unfolded on TV news?

That's the premise behind Amity Island News, individual vignettes telling the story of Jaws through news bulletins from the 'disappearance' of Chrissie Watkins to the destruction of the shark.

These short news items were originally produced just after the Jaws WeMake, so the news anchors (played by Ross and Dean) are still sporting their lockdown hair - almost perfect for that mid 70s vibe.

The news reports even see an Amity Island cameo or two from the likes of Chief Brody and we even get the weather report ahead of that all important fourth of July weekend.

Dean Newman, chief writer on the world's number one Jaws site, said: "We wanted to bring the events of Jaws to life, so we thought what better way than through news reports. We also had some fantastic help from some of those that featured in the Jaws WeMake, so in many ways it just felt like a bit of an extention of that."

So, here it is, Amity Island News. All the news, all the time.
