The Cast: The Shark Is Broken

You can catch The Shark Is Broken until November 6th, 2022 at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, Totonto, Canada.

The cast of Jaws is perfect. No question. Whether it be Quint, Hooper and Brody or Pipit the dog, each performer brought their character to life, making Jaws one of the greatest and most beloved movies ever made.

So when telling the story of the making of Jaws, it’s no easy task to assemble the perfect cast to play the perfect cast.

However, the makers of The Shark Is Broken, a new stage play revealing the hilarious behind-the-scenes drama on one of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters, have done the impossible and found three actors that perfectly capture arguably the greatest movie trio ever.

LIAM MURRAY-SCOTT AS RICHARD DREYFUSS

An actor, singer, and – because someone thought it was a good idea to let Liam handle weaponry – a BADC Advanced Actor-Combatant (in layman’s terms, he does stage fighting and stuff).

After training at Drama Centre London, Liam decided that he missed the sea too much, opting to move back home to Brighton. Liam feels more at ease with the smell of salt on the air and the screams of monstrous gulls in my ears every God-damned morning at 5am.

IAN SHAW AS ROBERT SHAW AND CO-WRITER

Ian Shaw is an English stage and screen actor. He is the son of actress Mary Ure and Jaws actor Robert Shaw (Quint). After studying American Studies at Sussex University, Shaw trained as an actor at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.

A self confessed cinephile, Ian knows how special the legacy of Jaws is. Taking on both writing and acting duties in his what is likely his most personal of professional challenges, Ian and co-writer Joseph Nixon have created something truly unique in The Shark Is Broken. The play pays tribute to three brilliant actors in the midst of a troubled production whilst adding to the myth and legend of one of the greatest cinematic experiences ever, Jaws.
