Fionn's Jaws costume Is Fin-tastic!

Last week was World Book Day and 6 year old’s Jaws fan Fionn’s inspired costume idea won the day! The Daily Jaws caught with Fionn and his dad Chris to learn more.

TDJ: Why did you choose to dress up as Jaws for World Book Day?

Fionn: I chose to go as Jaws sort of last minute we were stuck for ideas and we thought outside of the box and it hit me Peter Benchley wrote the book so why not.

TDJ: How did you make your costume? How long did it take?

Fionn: The costume was simple. I wore my shark onsie and my dad made the "book cover" from an old Amazon box and printer paper found some red paint and voila.

TDJ: What reaction did you get from your teachers and classmates?

Fionn: The reaction was great! There were millions of Harry Potters and Hermiones a few princesses and the other kids who just dressed up in what they had. Mine was the most original one there!

TDJ: How long have you loved jaws?

Chris (Fionn’s dad): He’s loved jaws for ages but he's only recently watched the movies after watching the meg he finally got the courage to watch it.

TDJ: Why do you love jaws?

Chris: Fionn likes jaws as he’s obsessed with sharks of all shapes and sizes especially Megaladon and Helicoprion his favourite extinct sharks.

In 2011, a tooth whorl from a *Helicoprion* was discovere in Idaho. The tooth whorl measured 45 cm (18 in) in length.

TDJ: Who is your favourite character in Jaws?

Chris: He loves Bruce of course. His favourite human is Brody then Hooper then Quint. I suppose Brody reminds him of my time in the army being a hero I suppose in his own way he's made up his fantasy of being on the Orca catching sharks.

TDJ: What is your favourite moment?

Chris: He loves the classic “You’re gonna need a bigger boat” and when the shark attacks in the pond after the hoax shark is captured.

TDJ: What other films do you like apart from jaws?

Chris: Fionn loves Spiderman and the marvel movies star wars too his favourite is probably jurassic park (the new ones) as the mosasaur is his next favourite animal.

TDJ: Any advice to people wanting to dress up as Jaws?

Fionn/Chris: Use your imagination don’t do what the other guys do - be original its what we did!
