Win 'The Shark Is Broken' Tickets!
Time travel, alas it isn’t possible, but if it were we’d be Quantum (or should that be Quintum) Leaping onto Martha’s Vineyard whilst Jaws was being filmed in 1974.
With those notorious filming delays, where Bruce the shark wasn’t cooperating fully for Steven Spielberg and co, we’d be sure of a long break.
We do however have the next best thing, the chance to win two tickets to The Shark Is Broken at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival throughout most of August at the Assembly George Square Studios - Studio Three.
Here’s the son of Jaws legend Robert Shaw, Ian Shaw, the co-writer and one of the actors in the show to tell us more as his dad, playing the character Quint.
And, Ian has (where possible) kindly agreed to have his photo taken with the winners post the show, just make sure you are stood in the foreground to give him some scale.
The Shark Is Broken is written by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon, inspired by his father’s diaries, this hilarious world premiere offers startling insights into the backstage Hollywood truths behind one of the greatest blockbusters of all time, Jaws. It is directed by Guy Masterson.
The show runs from August 2-25 and you can still get tickets here
How to win tickets
To be in with a chance of winning two tickets to the performance of your choice just post a short video of you doing your favourite Quint line of dialogue - who knows you could even end up being Ian Shaw’s understudy - and use the hashtags #TheSharkIsBroken #TheDailyJaws.
Be sure to add your video underneath this post on The Daily Jaws Twitter, Facebook or Instagram pages.
The winner of the pair of tickets will be picked at random, so don’t worry about how authentic your Quint sounds.
Competition closes at 11.59pm GMT on Saturday 27th July and a winner will be drawn and announced on Sunday 28th July.
Please note, the prize is for two tickets only and does not include travel to the venue, accommodation or food. There is no cash alternative ($10,000 or otherwise).
Tickets will be available from the box office on the day of performance and ID will be required.
