Great flight shark: Airport Basking shark is a Manx eater

You can catch The Shark Is Broken from 25th July 2023 at the Golden Theater, New York, NYC.

Bigger than a Great White, the Basking Shark is the second largest fish in the ocean – only beaten by the Whale Shark. It may have a huge mouth, but there is nothing to fear from this mighty fish as it only eats plankton.

A wonderful three-metre mural made from recyclable material - recycled Venetian mosaic glass, Manx stone and a variety of found items - has just been unveiled at Isle of Man Airport, and was created by the artist Kimmy McHarrie, and to paraphrase JAWS, that’s some rad mural McHarrie.

The mosaic was created on six 5 ft (1.5m) high panels (image Kimmy McHarrie)

The artist, who was born on the island, told the BBC that she "wanted to celebrate the amazing marine life this island has", with the majestic mural taking six months to complete.

Obviously, it is only an island if you look at it from the water, or from the air as you touch down at its airport to be welcomed by this wonderful great flight shark.
