JAWS inspired play The Shark Is Broken gets a little spicier!

You can catch The Shark Is Broken from 25th July 2023 at the Golden Theater, New York, NYC.

Well, my best decision of 2023 was making time to head to NYC to see The Shark is Broken. To say it exceeded expectations would be the understatement of the year. I had the privilege of meeting all three stars of the show afterwards.

They were so gracious and friendly, taking the time to take pictures, sign autographs, and have some Jaws conversations with me. The Shark is Broken was the perfect name for this play. It is well documented that the shark not working as planned in the movie is what pushed Spielberg to innovate with new ways to scare the audience sans the antagonist shark being visible.

It also helped lead to the wonderful character development and genuine interpersonal relationships that were impossible to miss in the movie. Ian Shaw captured the behind the scenes element of these relationships in such a touching a genuine way.

It felt as if you shared the friendship with them on stage, as you laughed and at times almost cried with the intense struggles they faced both with the movie and with themselves. I hope to see The Shark is Broken again before it leaves Broadway.
