When shark worlds collide: JAWS actors meet 'The Shark Is Broken' cast

You can catch The Shark Is Broken from 25th July 2023 at the Golden Theater, New York, NYC.

Who better to endorse JAWS inspired play ‘The Shark Is Broken’ than those involved in the first two JAWS movies? Well, that’s exactly what happened when Jeffrey Kramer (Deputy Hendricks from JAWS and JAWS 2) and Gary Springer (Andy from JAWS 2) attended a performance of the hottest ticket in town that continues to take a big bite out of Broadway.

It was a real delight to meet Jeffrey, a charming man, full of stories. Also, it was a pleasure to meet Gary Springer, although I have never seen Jaws 2. Every time I attempt to watch it I find I end up doing something more interesting, like watching Jaws.

It was an out of world experience to see the interior of the Orca inhabited by Richard, Roy and Robert again. An iconic movie event, marching to its 50th anniversary. I was thrilled to see the obvious anticipation of the audience and it was amazing to hear the audience mouthing the words to the Indianapolis speech.

I truly appreciated Ian Shaw’s performance. He is the spitting image of his dad and his peer in every way, including his outstanding imagining and co-writing of the script. Colin Donnell and Alex Brightman were brilliant in their own portrayals of Roy and Richard. I salute this entire production. I loved every minute of it!

It was a delight going with Jeffrey Kramer to THE SHARK IS BROKEN. I mean, that film was so important in both our lives. Seeing the Orca on stage when we walked into the theatre gave me a thrill and I wasn’t let down. The three actors were terrific and got Roy, Richard and Robert down perfectly. Ian was masterful and doing this as an homage to his dad was brilliant. As was meeting the three onstage in front of the Orca - that big fish is here to stay and it was great fun.
