New Xavier Gens shark movie 'Under Paris' surfacing on Netflix this year
Hot on the tail of the recent release of the action-packed film "Mayhem!," acclaimed French director Xavier Gens, known for his works like "Frontiers" and "Cold Skin," is gearing up for his next venture, a shark attack thriller titled "Under Paris," exclusively for Netflix.
Described as an "ambitious elevated genre film," "Under Paris" is poised to make a splash on Netflix in the upcoming summer. The French poster for the film can be seen below.
According to Variety, the movie is set against the backdrop of Summer 2024 in Paris, where the city is hosting the World Triathlon Championships on the Seine River for the first time. The plot unfolds as Sophia, a brilliant scientist, discovers from Mika, a young environmental activist, that a massive shark is lurking deep in the river.
In a bid to prevent a potential catastrophe in the heart of the city, Sophia and Mika are compelled to collaborate with Adil, the Seine river police commander.
Starring in the film are Bérénice Bejo, known for her role in "The Artist," and Nassim Lyes, acclaimed for "Overdose."
