JAWS to resurface in theaters for 50th anniversary
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the theater, Jaws is making a big-screen comeback for its 50th anniversary!
The celebration kicks off at the TCM Classic Film Festival in April with a special screening, followed by a nationwide theatrical re-release from August 29 to September 4, courtesy of Universal.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will launch a summer-long Jaws tribute over Memorial Day weekend, featuring themed screenings with a special menu, props, exclusive popcorn buckets, and merchandise.
For the ultimate immersive experience, Jaws on the Water returns on June 21 at Martha’s Vineyard—the film’s original shooting location—through the Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow. Additional screenings will take place at Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, throughout June and July.
This summer, a 50th-anniversary edition of Jaws will be released on physical media and digital, packed with new bonus content. Streaming kicks off June 15 on Peacock, alongside Jaws 2, Jaws 3-D, and Jaws: The Revenge.
Starting in May, fans can grab exclusive Jaws merchandise at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, including a collector’s sipper, bucket hat, baseball cap, crossbody bag, cooler bag, and more.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles will debut Jaws: The Exhibition, running from September 14, 2025, to July 26, 2026.
Plus, expect a wave of new Jaws products across fashion, toys, publishing, collectibles, and more throughout the year.
Based on Peter Benchley’s novel, the 1975 original summer blockbuster stars Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary, and Murray Hamilton.
