JAWS superfan Greg Nicotero announces new horror series 'Guts and Glory'

Shudder, in celebration of its 10-year anniversary, has greenlit Guts & Glory, an electrifying unscripted horror competition series from acclaimed special effects maestro and executive producer Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead, Creepshow) AMC Networks+1. Set to premiere with a dramatic two-episode launch on Tuesday, September 9 on Shudder and AMC+ (U.S. & Canada), the six-episode series will continue with new installments weekly AMC Networks.

Guts & Glory throws contestants into an immersive, horror-tinged gauntlet—part survival game, part genre-film spectacle. Nicotero describes the series as “if Survivor and The Blair Witch Project had a baby,” spotlighting his innovative fusion of practical SFX and unscripted reality challenges.

Production & Vision
Crafted under the banner of AMC Studios, Greg Nicotero serves as showrunner and executive producer, joined by Brian Witten (Monster Agency Productions), Chris Wagner (White Label), and Andrew Molina (Salaryman), with Jeffrey F. January stepping in as co-executive producer AMC Networks+1TheWrap.
