Jaws Exhibition To Open In Martha's Vineyard
Since filming of the Steven Spielberg blockbuster began in 1974, Jaws and Martha's Vineyard have been inextricably linked ever since.
And now, in its 45th year since release, Jaws is returning to home, to 'Amity Island' once again, in the form of a Jaws exhibition at the Martha's Vineyard Museum.
According to the Martha's Vineyard Museum website, it states: In commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the premiere of Jaws, the Museum will present an in-depth look at the making of one of the most memorable movies in cinematic history. Through photographs, oral histories, and original movie props, this exhibit will explore Martha’s Vineyard transformation into Amity Island, the Islanders that helped shape the movie and its memorable characters, and the film’s enduring legacy.
The exhibition is set to run from June 26th - just six days after the original release date of the film in the US in 1975 - through to October 11th, 2020.
This isn't the first there has been a Jaws exhibition at a museum, there was also another one at Catalina Island Museum, in 2018, which also served as the launchpad for Joe Alves' stunning book, which The Daily Jaws were lucky to get a signed copy of. Catalina Island: Night At The Jawseum
Catalina Island was also one of the locations used in the shooting of Jaws 2. 40 Years Of Jaws 2
