JAWS 50th Anniversary: Fans in a frenzy after event rumours grow on social media

Hello, islanders!

June 2025 is getting closer and with the anticipation of a gala 50th Anniversary Celebration growing we thought we’d take a moment to address some issues.

Like many of you, we are incredibly exited at the idea of a Jaws 50th Anniversary Celebration on the island of Martha’s Vineyard.  This excitement has been fueled by a recent story that has caught fire on social media about a proposed 10-day event to be held in mid-June.  At this time, the event is just that.  PROPOSED. 

It will be up to Universal Pictures and our friends at the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce to conceive and create an official event.  Until that happens, anything else you may read or hear is just speculation.

Because of the high volume of questions we’ve received regarding how to seek lodging, etc. we have created this post as a Public Service Message for Jaws fans who, like us, can’t wait to dip our toes in the waters off Amity.  

Rest assured that when an event is announced, you fans will be among the first to find out the details.  The admins of The Daily Jaws and other supporting Facebook groups including Jaws, Amity Jaws Group, Jaws50 and Let’s Talk Jaws Live! have, for almost two decades, built a strong relationship with many members of the film’s cast and crew, a relationship built on the definition of the word Amity:  Friendship.
