Hunt is on for missing head of shark hacked off on beach

The dead body of a smalltooth sand tiger shark washing up on a beach was a rare and exciting event because they aren’t often seen in UK waters, but that opportunity to study the amazing shark has been ruined after its head was hacked off.

The dead shark before it was hacked to pieces by trophy hunters

Now, the mission to find the head of the shark found in Hampshire is on and the likes of The UK Shark Trust and historian Dan Snow have called for it to be returned, so that biologists and experts can study the rare find.

The head, the tail, its whole damn fins of the shark – which is believed it is the first time it has been spotted in UK waters - were taken by trophy hunters overnight, showing that even in death man can’t help destroying sharks and what would have been this unique opportunity to discover more about it.

Do you know the whereabouts of the smalltooth sand tiger shark’s head?
