Fans blown away by 'spectacular' JAWS IMAX and REALD 3D return to the big screen
Not all us Jaws fans were alive or old enough back in 1975 to experience the industry changing movie that spawned the summer blockbuster… Steven Spielberg’s shark classic Jaws; and seeing Jaws on the big screen is a requirement on any dedicated fan’s chum-bucket list. So when we broke the news that Jaws would be getting a nationwide theatrical re-release over labor day weekend, we all went into meltdown. Then we realised something truly special would be happening as not only would Jaws be screened in IMAX for the first time, it would also be in REALD 3D. Surely this would mean one of the best Labor Day weekends we’ve ever had?
Not all IMAX and 3D conversions of classic movies work. Sometimes the 3D effects act as more of a distraction than enhance the experience. Some movies just don’t lend themselves too well to the IMAX format at all. However, Jaws director Steven Spielberg personally oversaw the IMAX and REALD 3D conversion of Jaws, giving this unique presentation of the care and attention it deserves.
So what’s the verdict? Well here is what some of you have told us over Twitter and Facebook.
