Divers Warned By Authorities 'Shark Riding' Illegal

What are stupid shark riders fin-kin?

If there was ever proof that sharks had more to fear from man than man has to fear from sharks, it's this. And it's enough to drop your, well, jaws.

Idiotic scuba divers who dive near Israel’s Hadera power station have been accused by authorities of riding sharks, that's right, potentially harming and certainly harassing the already vulnerable dusky and sandbar sharks in the Med.

It's a foolish act made all the more disturbing as more than 90% of Mediterranean shark species are now extinct. And these beautiful creatures are one of the reasons the area is so popular with divers, and now it appears that it is the few ruining it for the many who respect sharks.

Naturally, the sharks well-being is paramount, but who knows what a disgruntled shark may do if it decides to ward off a would-be rider.

Thankfully, The Jerusalem Post has reported that the Israel Nature & Parks Authority has now made it very clear to divers to avoid the area when the sharks are present, reminding them that harming or harassing the animals is illegal.
