Over 300 Sharks And Rays Face Extinction
A disturbing new report paints a potentially apocalyptic picture for the future of 316 species of sharks and rays.
All are now classed as being threatened or at risk of extinction in a new report by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
Those at greatest risk include four species of hammerhead shark, four species of angel shark and the giant manta ray. All of the world’s freshwater dolphin species are also threatened with extinction.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature provides the most authoritative report on the World's animal and plant species that are threatened, critically endangered or extinct.
It's a stark warning for mankind, and if we act swiftly enough we may just be able to turn the tide for the future of sharks - and for the future of us all.
