WIN Jaws Posters Celebrating Its Return To Cinemas
JAWS – the original summer blockbuster - is back where it belongs, on the big screen from 12 July, and to celebrate we’ve joined forces with those nice people at Park Circus to give away five UK quad re-release posters (40x30). Yes, those proportions are correct.
A spokesperson at Park Circus explained why Jaws was swimming back to cinema screens this summer. They said: “We brought it back to the big screen because we LOVE it! It felt like time to celebrate the film one more time and give UK audiences the chance to see it on the big screen again, although it’s ALWAYS a popular request!!”
Park Circus Group is a leading all-rights sales agency and distribution company representing the greatest names in filmed entertainment. Their classic films distribution and sales divisions represent the major Hollywood and British studios including Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Releasing International, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures and ITV Studios as well as a large number of independent producers and rights holders.
The re-release also brings with it a brilliant new trailer, showing that even after 44 years since its original release it still stands (Ben Gardner’s) head and shoulders above the summer competition. Although it is set in July, it didn’t actually get released in the UK until Boxing Day 1975.
Naturally, the poster is a spin on the Roger Kastel classic, the iconic image of the shark looming under an unsuspecting Chrissie as she swims through the water. This image fills the entire poster design, given a twist with a paint splatter style bleed at the edges that is sure to give it that extra collectable desirability.
So, how can you win this new Jaws poster? We want to see pictures of you in front of this poster on display at the cinema, be sure to add your picture underneath this post on The Daily Jaws Twitter, Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #JawsIsBack. Remember to let us know where in the country you are going to be seeing it, and which cinema chain.
Please note this competition is only open to residents of the UK & Ireland and closes at 11:59pm (GMT) on 31 July.
Jaws will be screening at over 200 selected cinemas across the UK from 12 July, including Cineworld, Vue, PIcturehouse, Showcase and selected independent cinemas, as well as in selected international territories.
It looks like it is set to be the summer of the shark all over again.
