Wife throws husband JAWS themed party - complete with Vote Vaughn cookies!

Jaws has been in my life almost as long as I have been alive. My first memories of Jaws, I was 8 years old and my sister who was 12 at the time was going with friends and friends parents and my mother would not let me go. I put up the biggest stink about it and got shut down. She was worried about me having nightmares and being scared of going into the water. Born and raised in northeast Massachusetts and being two hours north of fictional Amity (Martha's Vineyard) I finally understood her concern.

I cannot recall when I finally got to see Jaws. Memories are fuzzy 50 years later. I know I saw it on the big screen so it must have been a second theater run because I don't think VHS was mainstream yet and it definitely wasn't affordable. I remember seeing Jaws 2 in the theater with a friend and his Mother. My friend just had to sit in the very front row of the theater. I can remember jumping out of my seat number of times. But no nightmares haha.

I saw Jaws 3d in the theater with my sister. 3d effects were funny and cheesy at the time but hey it was the days before computer graphics. I had such a crush on Bess Armstrong and Lea Thompson. C'mon, I was 16. Can you blame me?

I saw Jaws The Revenge in the theater. I didn't hate it completely but I remember an old Michael Caine interview where he admitted he did it for the money.

I think what made Jaws work was the dynamic of the original cast and I don't mean just the big three. All of them. Entire cast was amazing. I feel it wasn't for that cast none of it would've worked.

Richard Dreyfuss is one of my all time favorite actors. I think he got robbed the Best Actor Oscar for Mr Holland's Opus. I met him at Rhode Island Comic Con in 2019.

Party my wife threw for me was low key. It was just small gathering. Cookies, sign and the table cloth was Jaws themed. Cookies were made by The Wicked Sweet Sugar Boutique https://www.facebook.com/TheWSSugarBoutique and I have the say the cookies looked so great I didn't want anyone to eat any. The detail is amazing.

I don't think a day goes by where Jaws doesn't fit in somewhere. I can turn on the movie with no sound and recite it word for word. so many great lines. I actually have a co-worker/friend who is on the same level as I and we just toss out quotes all day long.

I still don't understand how Larry Vaughn won re-election!
