The Making of 'Rogue Shark': A Jaws Inspired Shark Movie From Teenage Filmmaker Leo Escobar
The movie JAWS has had a huge influence on my life. I love sharks and JAWS is my favorite movie of all time. I also read the book Close to Shore by Michael Capuzzo. My movie Rogue Shark is inspired by both the movie JAWS and the book in which the JAWS novel by Peter Benchley was based. The movie was shot in a marsh area in Waterford, Connecticut. The ending of the movie is similar to the ending in JAWS . I have made several other movies for my YouTube channel LEO ESCOBAR.
While I was filming Rogue Shark, I had a lot of difficulty with the shark in the water. The shark is filled with foam and would not sink. The next shark I build will have a different material and will hopefully be easier to work with. This caused me to have a love/hate relationship with the movie. It was one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do. I love how the shark looks and I will always keep it in my home as a decoration and for inspiration for future movies.
Most of my movies are horror based and made just for fun. I really love making movies. Over the past year I have taught myself how to tell a story through movie making and how to edit movies. I made another shark movie called FLYING SHARK (Shark Week 2022). When I am older I am going to Film School to become a movie director/producer. I hope you enjoy the movie. Thank you for your time. Happy Shark year!
