Jaws Car Replica Is Secret Recipe For Success For Shark Sauce King
You'll never find Gabe DiSaverio too fah from his cah, and with good reason, it's a replica of Chief Brody's 1975 Chevy Blazer from Jaws. And he's even named the car, calling it Martin. What else?
The Jaws obsessed owner of The Spicy Shark hot sauce company has had 'a thing' for the 1975 Steven Spielberg classic ever since he saw it when he was aged eight.
So, it's perhaps with little surprise that when he moved to Boston in 1977, his favorite holiday spot was the real life Amity Island, Martha's Vineyard. He could often be found on the Jaws tours, soaking up the filming locations and re-enacting his favourite scenes. Now, with that car, his life is one big scene from Jaws.
Not that it always looked like the Chief's ride, he had to remove the hard top, paint the roll bar black and back panel white. To complete the Jaws car experience he fitted non-working cherry lights on the roll bar, added Amity licence plates, replica hubcaps and even correct font Amity Police Dept lettering to the door panels. One presumes he let Polly do the printing.
The only difference to the film car is that it features an advert for the thespicyshark.com on the back, and now Gabe is offering 10% off spicy shark purchases to followers of The Daily Jaws.
His love for all things Jaws doesn't end there, with his daughter's middle name being Ellen. We just hope his attention to detail doesn't include never returning her cups!
