Using social media and our website are amazing ways to keep you updated with all the latest JAWS news, events, products and more but it is our YouTube channel that has proven to be the dark horse (or should that be dark shark) in our arsenal. Recently we reached 9,000 YouTube subscribers (thank you!!) and thought it the perfect time to look back at our 10 most viewed videos.

10. Audience reaction to ‘The Shark Is Broken’ (19,000 views)
On 27th July 2019, The Daily Jaws was in Brighton to watch the final preview of 'The Shark Is Broken', a new play inspired by Robert Shaw's diaries that starred and was co-written by his son Ian Shaw. This often hilarious world premiere offers startling insights into the backstage Hollywood truths behind one of the greatest blockbusters of all time.
Since then it has proved to be a hit at The Edinburgh Fringe, in London’s West End and across the pond that isn’t for old ladies in Canada.

Bruce is the name of the Great White Shark that was the main antagonist of Steven Spielberg’s JAWS, and was the collective name for a reoccurring group of supposedly-mutated Great White Sharks thought to be closely related genetically.
8. Robert Shaw sings (Farewell and adieu to you fair) "Spanish Ladies" 18 years before JAWS! (33,000 views)
Made famous by Quint (played by Robert Shaw) in JAWS (1975) as a goad to Hooper's anti-shark cage plan, Shaw sang the exact same song 18 years earlier when he starred as Captain Dan Tempest in the TV series The Buccaneers.

Produced by The Daily Jaws and created by over 100 super-fans around the world, this special 45th anniversary film uses a mix of live action, animation, action figures and stop motion to deliver a fan-made love letter to the 1975 Steven Spielberg shark thriller that was created during lockdown and Covid-19.
The film even got mention in The Guardian and on Shark Week!

'In The Teeth Of Jaws' was first broadcast on UK television on BBC 2 in 1997. Featuring interviews with all the key players (still alive), this is the complete story of the making of JAWS. From the idea for the writing of the novel to the completed film and subsequent success and ongoing legacy of the phenomenon that is JAWS.
5. Show Me The Way To Go Home (The JAWS Song) (66,000 views)
We all know the song sung by Hooper, Quint and Brody as they sit huddled round the table on the Orca in JAWS, but it origins begin some 50 years earlier.
Written in 1925 by the pseudonymous "Irving King" (the English songwriting team James Campbell and Reginald Connelly). The song is said to have been written on a train journey from London by Campbell and Connelly.
They were tired from the traveling and had a few alcoholic drinks during the journey, hence the lyrics. The song is in common use in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and North America.

It tells the story of a great white shark that preys upon the small resort town of Amity Island and the voyage of three men, Brody, Quint and Hooper, trying to kill it. The novel grew out of Benchley's interest in shark attacks after he learned about the exploits of Montauk, New York shark fisherman Frank Mundus in 1964
