For That You Get The Head... Quint's Replica Cap From Jaws Is Epic!

Jaws fans are in for a real treat as Heddels has announced its latest collaborative product release, the Quint Cap 2 - Quint’s Revenge, made in partnership with Knickerbocker MFG.

As far as authentic looking replicas go, they've crushed it like one of Quint's cans.

Only 100 of these exquisite hand-made caps are available, so you'll have to be a fast-fish to reel one in.

The Quint Cap is a five-panel waxed canvas hat directly inspired by shark hunters and deep sea fishermen of the 1970s. It features two tackle pockets on the front panel, a foldable tent-able brim, and an adjustable wolf fish leather strap made from fishery byproducts.

And that figure has has some illustrious Jaws cast and crew company, including Richard Dreyfuss (Matt Hooper), Carl Gottlieb (Harry Meadows and Jaws co-screenwriter) and Joe Alves (Jaws production designer). Not that the cap is endorsed by Universal or anyone related to the film Jaws in any way.

So, how can you get your city hands on this first rate Jaws replica?

The Quint Cap will be available for pre-order purchase for $82 on the Heddels Shop at 10am EST on March 23 with orders closing April 5.

That $82 buys an awful lot of roast, so what do you get for that price? Some pretty good stuff and the most accurate replica of Quint's headgear.

The hat is already something of a celebrity in Jaws circles as it is the same one that could be seen being worn by the stunning Quint model by Nick Marra.

The fabric is an 8.25oz. Martexin waxed canvas Shelter Tent woven and sold by Fairfield Textile in New Jersey. The leather is vegetable tanned wolf fish leather from Atlantic Leather in northern Iceland. The twill tape on the sweatband and the inside finished edges is a natural cotton herringbone. The thread is a brown poly-cotton from Efrid. The brass slider buckle is from an American distributor.

To paraphrase Matt Hooper, you don't have to take this working class hero cap, but it really does look something special. Whilst it may not improve your rendition of the USS Indianapolis speech, you'll certainly look the part.

In fact, the only thing that could improve the look of the cap would be if it wound up on the head of Ian Shaw when he returns to stage to play his dad, Robert Shaw, playing Quint in The Shark Is Broken. Wouldn't that be something?
