PETER BENCHLEY'S CREATURE: THE SCARIEST SHARK MONSTER YOU (PROBABLY) NEVER SAW
Creature is a 1998 made for TV movie starring Craig T. Nelson, Kim Cattrall and Matthew Carey. The movie is based on the 1994 novel White Shark by Jaws author Peter Benchley.
The film is about an amphibious shark-like monster terrorizing an abandoned secret military base and the people who live on the island where it is located.
In 1972 in a secret Navy base off St.Lucia, naval researchers have created a hybrid: a dolphin crossed with a great white shark. The Navy wants to use it in the rice paddy field of Vietnam but the scientists go too far, creating a new species which the Navy covers up. Forward 25 years and scientist Simon Chase takes over the island with his ex-wife and son to research the connection between cancer and sharks.
