HOW TO DRAW JAWS

The Jaws poster is one of the most iconic movie artworks of all time. The simple, yet stark illustration of a lone female swimmer, front crawling in vibrant blue water, oblivious to the lethal and imminent threat of a massive shark perfectly captures the essence of Jaws; instantly tapping into our primal fear of what lurks beneath.

The Jaws poster created by Roger Kastel

Even though the shark species featured in both the book and movie was a Great White, Jaws poster artist Roger Kastel based his shark on a model of a Mako shark.

Sadly, the original Jaws poster has been missing for years and Roger is desperate to be reunited with his work but sadly he, nor we, have been able to locate it. Rumour is Spielberg has it but that’s unconfirmed.
