World's First Jaws Christmas Tree

When The Daily Jaws heard about a US based Jaws finatic creating what may possibly be the world’s forst Jawsmas Tree (Jaws themed Christmas Tree), we had to find out more. We set sail across the digital waves on the hunt for Travis, the creator of the Great White Christmas Tree and tracked him down in Minneapolis.

The Daily Jaws: How long have you been doing the Jaws Christmas tree?

Travis: This is actually the first year with the Jaws theme.

TDJ: How did the idea originate?

T: My son and I are big horror movie fans. Each year we do a horror themed tree. Last year was a Freddy Krueger tree. This year we thought we would honor the greatest movie of all time, Jaws!

TDJ: How many items are there on it?

T: We have about 10 toy sharks, a severed leg, a severed arm, a fin and the Jaws head.

TDJ: What reaction does it get from friends and family?

T: They expect nothing less from me.

TDJ: How long have you been a fan of Jaws?

T: Since I was 5 years old.

TDJ: When did you first see it?

T: At the drive in theater with my parents.

TDJ: Who is your favourite character and why?

T: That’s a tough one, they are all so awesome! I would have to say Quint. Such a mesmerizing performance by Robert Shaw. Watching him go from stoic to vulnerable to defeated is very heartbreaking.

TDJ: What's your favourite moment in the film?

T: The Indianapolis speech, hands down one of the best scenes in movie history.

TDJ: Is Jaws the Revenge a Christmas movie?

T: Ummmmm….I don’t even recognize Jaws the Revenge as a movie…it simply doesn’t exist in my mind

TDJ: Do you collect other Jaws or shark items?

T: I love my Jaws edition Sperry boat shoes. I have a tattoo mash up of my three favorite movies…Jaws, Fletch (who I named my son after) and Dawn of the Dead.
