JAWS on cocaine, could Cocaine Shark be next after Cocaine Bear?

After news of $3 million worth of cocaine was found dumped in waters off New Zealand it was inevitable that Cocaine Shark was trending on social media.

And Cocaine Bear's director Elizabeth Banks playfully hasn't ruled out a follow up with a shark after hearing the story.

Speaking to PEOPLE she said: "Jaws with cocaine, I don't see how that loses."

Banks is right, it doesn't, and could well make a fair few summer dollars at the box office.

And who knows, perhaps there could be room for a cameo by Michael Caine as Hoagie, reprising his role from JAWS the Revenge (1987). Both properties are from Universal Pictures, so why not?

A subplot involving Hoagie smuggling drugs onto the island was shot for Revenge, but then deleted during post production, it does still feature in the novelisation by Hank Searls though.

Giving a whole new meaning to high concept, Cocaine Bear is loosely based on a true story, where the body of a black bear were found near a ripped up duffle bag of cocaine that was dropped out of a plane by a smuggler. It at least answering the question, does a bear get shitfaced in the woods?

The film rears into view on US cinema screens on February 24.
