JAWS FILMING LOCATIONS LOOK STUNNING IN GREAT WHITE SNOW

Blizzard warnings were in place for Martha's Vineyard, as well as most most of eastern, northeastern and southeastern Massachusetts over the last few days.

The wintery weather saw gusts of up to 65 miles per hour on the Vineyard, which created lots of snow on the Island.

Martha's Vineyard, for many it is perhaps best known as the fictional town of Amity Island in Steven Spielberg's Jaws.

Amity, as you know, is a summer town it relies on summer dollars, although Martha's Vineyard couldn't look any less summer at the moment as it is covered in snow.

After a day long blizzard, no doubt that 24 hours felt like three weeks for some, but for local photographer Michael Blanchard it has meant he has been able to capture some truly inspiring and beatiful images of the Vineyard in its great white glory.

And several of those shots are locations made famous during the filming of Jaws back in 1974. They include South Beach, the Jaws Bridge and Main Street in Edgartown; where it was clearly too slippy for kids to be karate chopping picket fences.

Fans of the Jaws series will have seen Martha's Vineyard doubling as Amity Island in the winter during the opening scenes of Jaws the Revenge AKA the Christmas Jaws film.

At least residents don't have to worry about any sharks this time, right? (Just to be clear, that isn't one of Michael's photos).

or even visit his gallery next time you are on the Vineyard.
