JAWS 2 filming locations video guide

For fans of Jaws 2, the Florida Panhandle isn’t just scenic coastline—it’s a living movie set. In this new video, filmmaker and lifelong Jaws 2 enthusiast Phil DeSimone revisits the real locations where the 1978 sequel was filmed, blending on-location exploration with personal passion for one of cinema’s most enduring shark films.

The journey begins at the former Holiday Inn Holidome, now the SpringHill Suites Navarre Beach. Instantly recognizable to longtime fans, the site stands as one of the most iconic structures used in the film and remains a tangible connection to Jaws 2’s coastal setting.

From there, Phil heads to Navarre Beach Entrance 38C, the filming location for the intense Cable Junction sequence. Walking the same stretch of sand where one of the movie’s most suspenseful moments unfolded brings the scene into sharp focus—proof that even quiet beach access points can carry cinematic history.

Next, the video travels west to Fort Pickens, where the dramatic lighthouse scene—featuring the infamous dead orca—was filmed. The stark contrast between the calm surroundings and the scene’s dark tone highlights how effectively the filmmakers used real locations to heighten tension.

The journey continues east to Destin Harbor, where Phil visits the marina to spotlight the Aquanote boat used in the film. Seeing the vessel’s real-world counterpart adds another layer of authenticity for fans who’ve watched the movie countless times.

The video concludes in Pensacola, at the filming location used for Amity Town Hall—bringing the tour full circle and tying together the civic heart of Amity with the surrounding coastal locations.

Throughout the video, Phil shares his deep appreciation for Jaws 2. The video also pays tribute to director Jeannot Szwarc, who passed away in January 2025, honoring his lasting impact on the film and its devoted fanbase.

This project is both a filming-location guide and a heartfelt love letter to Jaws 2—and to the Gulf Coast that helped bring it to life.
