JAWS 2 - A MARVEL SUPER SPECIAL! (REVIEW)
Back in 1978, there was no home video, no Netflix or Prime, so the only way you could relive the magic of Jaws 2 was to see it until it vanished from cinema screens.
But there were other options, there was the novelisation by Hank Searls (who would also go onto do the same duties on Jaws The Revenge) or there was the Jaws 2 Marvel Super Special.
It was full colour and a larger format than normal comics, but most importantly, it was full of killer shark action that you could relive again and again until Jaws 2 was re-released or wound up on television.
Marvel Super Special #6 was written by Rick Marschall and drawn by the winning team of Gene Colan and Tom Palmer.
The 56-page comic was based on the original director of Jaws 2, John Hancock's version, before he was removed from the project and replaced by Jeannot Szwarc.
This version of Jaws 2 follows an earlier draft of the script, written by Howard Sackler and Dorothy Tristan, before Carl Gottlieb's came on board the Jaws sequel for late rewrites, that would become the final released film.
