Does this Jaws boxset disprove a long held Steven Spielberg theory?

Jaws, you can buy the Steven Spielberg 1975 shark classic on its own,  but have ever wondered why you can never buy it with the other films?

It was the long held belief that Spielberg felt that the original film should never be sold with Jaws 2 (1978), Jaws 3D (1983) and Jaws the Revenge (1987), as they just weren't as good as the first one and being in the same boxes may harm its reputation as one of the greatest films of all time.

All were made and released by Universal Studios, so it isn't as if it was a rights issue, so perhaps there is some legitimacy to this claim?

I've never seen the original available as a double, with Jaws 2, or any of the other films in the series, but Jaws 2, 3 and 4 have long been available to buy as a threesome, sans Jaws.

That is until now, scouring eBay I came across this VHS set from Australia – from the seller iicaptainbirdseye - which featured the first three Jaws films, including the original Spielberg directed classic.

Does anyone else think there is any truth to the rumour that Universal isn't able to package all Jaws films together?

And has anyone else ever seen the original Jaws coupled with any of the other Jaws films, besides this one?
