Can you help JAWS 2 star after revealing tragic news?

He battled the returning menace of a great white shark to the shores of Amity Island in JAWS 2 (1978), but now Sean Brody actor Marc Gilpin needs your help to fight brain cancer.

On May 5th, it was discovered Marc had two tumors in his brain, one in the central area, meaning it is not able to be surgically removed due to the location.

With the love of his friends, family and JAWS fans, Marc is determined to face this battle with bravery and dignity, but like the teen sailors who helped one another in times of peril, JAWS fans can help Marc to have a chance of beating the odds. We can be his Marge and help give him a lift when he really needs it.

Marc was the second of four actors to play the youngest son of Amity Island Police Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) and Ellen Brody (Lorraine Gary), with Jay Mello in the original Steven Spielberg classic JAWS (1975), John Putch finding out that the third dimension is terror in JAWS 3D (1983) and the Sean Brody character - spoiler alert - finally running out of luck and becoming an early shark snack in JAWS the Revenge (1987), where Sean was portrayed by Mitchell Anderson.

In a September update, GoFundMe campaign organiser Kim Parks explained “The tumor has not grown, shrunk some, and no new “satellites”. Neuro Oncologist very encouraged by the respons e to treatment.“

Message

Dear family and friends,

We are setting up this fundraiser to help offset medical and household expenses for Marc and Kaki Gilpin and their two boys as they are facing the unimaginable.

On May 5th, they discovered Marc has two tumors in his brain. One of the tumors, which is in the central area of his brain, is not able to be surgically removed due to the location. The next step is to get a biopsy of the larger mass. This will confirm what the tumor(s) consist of and allow us to form an action plan. While we all pray for a positive outcome, we know the journey will be the most difficult one the family has endured.

As if this is not enough for this family of four to endure, they are also dealing with significant financial stress. Recently Marc lost his job along with his company paid insurance plan and has been actively pursuing new employment. Facing this medical crisis, Marc is clearly unable to gain employment at this time. His wife, Kaki, is an elementary school teacher which is the most admirable profession but sadly also very underpaid. Given the current crisis situation they are in, Kaki has had to take FMLA time off of work to navigate all of the doctor appointments, treatments and more. Therefore, her salary is even more reduced during this period.

If you would like to assist with their financial burden, any donation would be greatly appreciated. If I could take a small piece of any of those worries away, it would be my privilege and honor. We welcome all thoughts, prayers and actions during this almost unbearable time. Please keep Marc, Kaki and their two sweet sons, Spencer (17) and Presley (15) in your hearts
